Our Mission:

To minister to all people by providing special places set apart from daily life
that offer experiences for persons to encounter God through Jesus Christ
and live transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

History:

In April of 2005 the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii created Presbyterian Camp & Conference Centers, Inc.,
(PCCCI), as a separate 501(c)(3), to take ownership of the three Synod camps: Big Bear Conference Center,
Wylie Woods and Rancho La Scherpa.  PCCCI operates as an independent entity; however, it serves the Presbyterian
churches in the seven Presbyteries which make up the Synod.  This affiliation is affirmed by the fact that the twelve
men and women who serve on the PCCCI Board of Directors are selected from the seven Presbyteries of the Synod.

In December of 2005 the Board of Directors employed the Reverend Rick Harrison to serve as the first
President/CAO of PCCCI.  Rick has over 20 years of experience as a camping professional and comes to
PCCCI after serving 15 years as the Executive Director of Calvin Crest Conference Center.

Values:

Values determine actions and establish the framework for commitments.
These core values are the essential foundation of PCCCI’s identity and mission.

We value people and therefore offer service and hospitality to our fellow brothers and sisters as we seek to glorify God.

We value the highest standards of Christian Stewardship. We believe we are called by God to be
stewards of God’s resources and to use them wisely for God’s Purposes.

We value Christian programs designed for children, youth, and adults that build community,
faith, and leadership within the church.

We value our partnership with Presbyterian governing bodies and congregations in
Southern California and Hawaii and recognize the value of being a part of the Presbyterian
Church USA. We embrace our responsibility to strengthen our denomination’s faithfulness to its Reformed Faith.
